Morning Star Construction has built the finest quality custom homes both on and off the beach, performed major home renovations and additions in Lewes, Dewey Beach, Long Neck, Bethany Beach, Dagsboro, Fenwick Island and Ocean City, Maryland. The majority of our home construction projects have come directly from client, architects and designer referrals. Morning Star Construction is a Woman Owned Business lead by its Owner and President Sherry J. Stephens in Dagsboro, Delaware. Sherry oversees the company's banking relationships, payment to subcontractors, suppliers and vendors while at the same time making sure the business is doing what should be accomplished to keep the clients happy and the company running smoothly.
Morning Star Construction, LLC though only in business for seven years we are a culmination of over 60 years of building experience. Ted Stephens, originally from Wilmington, Delaware grew up in the electrical trade of his father’s electrical business. Surprising his father, Ted decided that carpentry interested him more than being purely an electrician so Ted went to a technical school to learn the trade and did a four-year carpentry apprenticeship. After working with contractors in the Wilmington area Ted and his family built a Williamsburg Style Housing Development in Dagsboro, Delaware. The project is called Gander Woods, consisting of over 26 homes. Ted’s clients loved his homes so much they asked him to stay on as the exclusive builder and member of the Architectural Committee so Ted and his wife Sherry live in the very subdivision where he ventured out on his own. Subsequent to the Gander Wood Project Ted started Tuscarora Construction and began building custom homes in the Dagsboro Bethany Beach area until he was asked by the firm of Carl M. Freeman Associates to join their team and help lend his expertise to their Sea Colony Project. Ted directed the construction of Town Homes, Single Family Homes, Condominiums, a 20,000 square foot shopping center and a 16,000 square foot community clubhouse.
Ted has made Morning Star Construction a premier home builder on the Eastern Shore. The combination of knowledge in home carpentry, land development, custom building, drafting, budgeting, scheduling and finance has helped in every phase of the home building endeavor. They are a team, building with knowledge, experience and integrity, which attributes to their reputation of satisfying every new owner of a custom Morning Star Construction home
